Metzger's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

26-year old center Theo Metzger (200-C-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Defensor Sporting Club Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Corinthians (1-1) 81-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Defensor is placed at 2nd position in Liga SudAmericana. Defensor is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Metzger had a remarkable 88.9% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Defensor and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Metzger has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 26.0ppg) and averages solid 80.0% FGP and 57.1% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Brandon Robinson (196-SG-1989) of top-ranked Quimsa Santiago del Estero. He is American guard in his 2nd season at Quimsa. In the last game Robinson recorded an impressive 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Quimsa to another comfortable win outscoring Alvarado (#4, 0-2) 88-59. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Quimsa consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Robinson is well-known at Quimsa and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.5ppg (#3). He also registered 5.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Andres Lugli (188-PG-1995) of IMP Alvarado (#4). Lugli scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Lugli's great performance the Alvarado lost 59-88 to #1 ranked Quimsa. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Lugli has individually a great season in Liga SudAmericana. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (4th best), rebounds with 9.0rpg (4th best) and assists with 5.0apg (5th best).
